First, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Secondly, yes, my chi-corgi, Munch (above), owns a tuxedo. Guitar Fred and are debating whether or not to include him in our ceremony -- either to walk down the aisle with a bridesmaid or to bear our rings. I rarely go anywhere without him (I even take him to my weekly tennis practices) and I would hate to leave him alone at home on our big day.

We adopted this 2-year old cutie from a rescue in May and although he knows a few commands, I don't think we can successfully train him to sit and stay throughout the whole ceremony. When I see that other couples have incorporated their "best friends" in their ceremony (Green Wedding Shoes' 2008 post), I wonder what happens when it's over. Who watches the dog throughout the rest of the night? I can imagine we'll be too busy taking photos, hugging friends and family, and more to worry about my little Munch.
Do people quietly retire their dogs to a crate or back to the bridal suite? Or do they just let their dogs run around the reception? If you're encountering this dilemma or have even resolved it, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks!

Cute blog lady, I will be following :-)
Happy New Year!
Hey Vera. Mr. Munch is SUPER adorable. Sorry I don't have any personal experience, but it seems that you'll have to get a willing friend or family member to play "dog wrangler" before, during, and after the wedding.
My fiance mentioned on several occasions wanting to include his (soon to be our) dog in our ceremony. I thought about it but he is overly excited around lots of people and can't be left alone in unfamiliar places. So as you mentioned, we couldn't let him run around the venue or be locked up by himself and we would worry too much about if he was okay and who was supposed to be watching him for the rest of the event after he had been involved. Therefore, as cute as it would be to have him in some pictures, we just can't do it...so he'll be staying home on wedding day. Hope it works out for you and don't worry if you find you can't include your little cutie.
Oh, my goodness your little doggie is so adorable!
Thanks for your feedback. I think we may have to only include our little Munchie in our engagement photos. :(
Munch is so freakin' adorable! How big is he? I have a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and she's now an old lady but I just love me some corgis :)
Mismikdao -- Munch is 2 years old and about 10 lbs; my cat is bigger than he is. I love Pembroke Welsh Corgis, the Queen's dogs!
